Authorities have arrested two men in connection with running the ganja racket. They sourced the narcotics from Assam and transported it to Hyderabad, where they repacked the contraband into smaller packets for sale.
The Telangana Excise State Task Force has busted an ganja-selling racket being operated from hotel rooms near a hospital in Hyderabad and arrested two men in connection.
The operation led to the seizure of 17.1 kg of ganja, estimated to be worth around Rs 9 lakh.
The arrested men were identified as Dheeraj Das, 39, and Rabali Ali, 25, are from Assam who had previously worked as security guards in Hyderabad.
Officials said the duo allegedly sourced ganja from Assam and transported it to Hyderabad, where they repacked the contraband into smaller packets for sale.
Investigators suspect that the accused were using hotel rooms near Kondapur Government Hospital as a base to store, repack and sell the ganja.
