Umar Khalid is a nationalist, says KPCC president Hariprasad

Karnataka Congress president Hariprasad defended activist Umar Khalid as a nationalist, sparking a row with the ABVP. The dispute centres on a postponed documentary screening at NLSIU, linked to Khalid’s six-year UAPA incarceration. The ABVP accused the Congress of hypocrisy over Afzal Guru remarks.

The ABVP hit back at Hariprasad and asked the Congress to explain the grounds on which it labels Khalid as a “nationalist”.
