Two killed, three injured as speeding lorry rams devotees during Ganesh immersion procession in Chittoor
CHITTOOR: Two persons were killed and three others seriously injured after a speeding lorry rammed into devotees waiting by the highway for a Ganesh idol immersion procession at Chintamakulapalli in V Kota mandal of Chittoor district in the early hours of Thursday.
The accident occurred around 12.30 am on Wednesday night when the devotees were standing on the roadside as part of the immersion procession. The lorry reportedly lost control and hit the group.
Police investigation is underway.
