Two criminals apprehended after encounter with police in Faridabad
Faridabad, Sep 16 (PTI) Faridabad Police apprehended two criminals after a brief encounter here in the early hours of Wednesday, officials said.
Both the criminals, Sonu and Rahul from Delhi, sustained gunshot wounds in the exchange of fire and were admitted to B K Hospital for treatment, the police officials said.
The operation was carried out jointly by teams of Crime Branch BPTP and Crime Branch Sector-85 around 3 am near the canal in Mavai.
“Sonu and Rahul were riding a black Splendor motorcycle. Upon spotting a police team near the canal, they turned their motorcycle around and attempted to flee. When the police chased them, they opened fire at the officers to evade arrest,” a senior officer said.
“During the exchange of fire, both sustained gunshot injuries and were nabbed. The accused will be arrested after being discharged from the hospital,” the officer said.
Weapons and a motorcycle were recovered from the spot.
According to police, both Sonu and Rahul have multiple criminal cases registered against them. PTI COR DIV DIV
