Samsung makes buying Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra little easier on your pocket with new scheme

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold8 are now available with 25% lower monthly EMIs through the Galaxy Forever programme. Here is how the deal works, including buyback options, deferred payments and Samsung Care+ protection.

After the recent iPhone Duo debut, foldable smartphones are making waves across the internet. Samsung, which has made a reputation over the past decade for its sophisticated foldables, has now introduced a new payment plan for its latest foldable smartphones – the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 8. The new offer comes under what it calls the Galaxy Forever programme, which promises to allow customers to buy these devices with 25 per cent lower monthly EMIs over a two-year period. The programme also includes an assured buyback option and Samsung Care Plus protection.

Under the programme, customers can pay 60 per cent of the phone’s price, along with the Galaxy Forever programme fee, through 24 monthly EMIs. The remaining 40 per cent is deferred as a final payment, also known as a bullet payment. This means buyers can reduce their monthly payments without having to pay the full device price over the two years.

Two months earlier, in July, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra at Rs 1,99,999 and the Galaxy Z Fold8 at Rs 1,79,999 for their base variants. Now with the Galaxy Forever programme, the monthly EMI for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra comes down from Rs 9,417 to Rs 6,997. And the Galaxy Z Fold8 EMI drops from Rs 8,584 to Rs 6,416. These lower EMIs apply over the 24-month programme period, along with the applicable programme fee.

At the end of the two years, customers can choose from three options. They can upgrade to a newer Galaxy device by returning their current phone, paying the remaining 40 per cent of the device price and keeping the phone, or simply returning the device and exiting the programme, subject to its terms.

Customers can also return or upgrade their phones before completing the 24-month period. Samsung has listed assured buyback values of up to 55 per cent for returns after 10 to 11 months, up to 50 per cent after 12 to 13 months, up to 45 per cent after 14 to 18 months, and up to 40 per cent after 19 to 25 months. These returns are offered under the programme’s “No Questions Asked” policy, subject to its conditions.

The programme also includes Samsung Care+, which covers accidental and liquid damage without claim processing fees. Customers do not need to purchase this protection separately.

It is worth noting that the 25 per cent reduction refers to the monthly EMI, not a flat discount on the phone’s total price. Customers who want to keep their device after two years will still need to pay the deferred 40 per cent amount. Those who choose to return or upgrade can use the buyback option, subject to the programme’s terms.
