Rs 9,580 Cab Ride In Norway Makes Indian Man Question India’s Rich-Poor Divide: ‘Wages Paid By Hour’

He shared that professions such as driving, plumbing, electrical work, nursing and teaching are well-paid jobs in Norway but same jobs do not get a good salary or respect in India
An Indian man living in Norway shared details of his taxi ride in the country. In a post on X, he shared a ride around 29 km, which took around 22 minutes to complete, and cost him 934 Norwegian krone, or around Rs 9,580. While he described the journey as smooth and comfortable, he compared the fare with taxi or cab services in India, which he said are considerably cheaper.
In a follow-up post, the man named Vinod shared that the expensive taxi fare had made him think about a much larger difference between India and Norway: the gap in earnings across professions. He said that professions such as driving, plumbing, electrical work, nursing and teaching are well-paid jobs in Norway, but the same is not the case in India.
