Prithviraj Sukumaran lauds the increased number of 'industry hits' like Bethlehem Kudumba Unit and Lokah: Chapter 1 Chandra that Malayalam cinema is witnessing in recent years.
Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju starrer Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has emerged as the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. On its 24th day of release, it crossed the coveted Rs 300 crore mark worldwide. As its glorious theatrical run continues, it has minted more than Rs 130 crore in Kerala and has surpassed the lifetime collection (gross) of Lokah: Chapter 1 Chandra.
The age-gap romantic-comedy had released alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Khalifa during Onam but heavily outperformed the actioner. As per reports, the latter was mounted on a budget of about Rs 50 crore and grossed roughly Rs 45 crore during its theatrical run. Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, on the other hand, was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 25 crore.
