A fresh US-Pakistan defence technology link has emerged, with American drone and defence technology company POWERUS holding talks with Pakistan’s military leadership at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, weeks after the company secured a $22.3-million counter-drone contract for critical oil and gas infrastructure in the Middle East.

POWERUS representatives, led by co-founder Robert Bret Velicovich, met Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir on Wednesday. Pakistan’s military said the two sides discussed evolving defence technology, procurement, production and capacity building.
