Teachers By Day, BLOs By Evening, Meet Tripura’s SIR Foot Soldiers: ‘I’m Popular In My Area’
As Tripura prepares for SIR, teachers and other govt workers serving as BLOs are juggling voter verification with their regular duties while helping address voter concerns.
For Agartala’s Ranjit Debnath, juggling his teaching duties with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise is all about “time-management". The Agartala resident is “popular" among the residents of Ramkrishna Palli, a locality a stone’s throw from Agartala Government Medical College and Hospital, one of the state’s oldest hospitals.
“I am popular in my area. Since I am a BLO of a particular assembly constituency, a lot of people know me personally. I feel both jobs are exciting," Debnath said while speaking to News18 over a phone call this weekend.
