SRK is a ‘thinking person’ and Rani is instinctive, says Amol Palekar on making Paheli
Not a comma was changed, recalls Amol Palekar on making Paheli with Shah Rukh, Rani Mukerji.

New Delhi: In Amol Palekar’s Paheli (2005), not a comma was changed from the original script even though some of Bollywood’s top stars, Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan were involved.
Palekar recalled in an interview with Kindlecast that the script remained the foundation of the film and having actors of such calibre made his job as a director much easier. Speaking about working with Rani Mukerji, Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, he explained that each actor brought something different to the film.
“Rani is a very instinctive actor,” Palekar said, praising the actor for the way she approached her character. In contrast, he described Shah Rukh Khan as not only a brilliant actor but also “a thinking person.”
“When you have such a combination with you and even Amitabh Bachchan to support all that, so, for me, it was very very easy and very simple to get things done from them because the base was our script,” he said.
