Jharkhand: Woman’s body with stab injuries recovered from house, one held
Chaibasa, Sep 17 (PTI) Police recovered the body of a young woman with stab injuries from her rented apartment in Shitala Mandir Gwala Patti area in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district on Thursday evening, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Anita Bind, a native of Auraiya district in Uttar Pradesh.
“We received information from locals that a man was trying to flee from the house of this woman, who was found lying in a pool of blood in her room. We have taken the man under custody, and sent the body for post-mortem,” SP Amit Renu told PTI.
The woman’s body bore stab wounds, he said.
According to police, the accused claimed during preliminary questioning that he was the victim’s lover.
Forensic evidence has been collected from the spot, and a thorough investigation is underway, the officer said. PTI ANB RBT
