Adults can nominate queer partners for medical decisions, Centre tells Delhi HC
The Centre has told the Delhi High Court that competent adults should be allowed to nominate their queer partners as medical representatives. The move aims to ensure healthcare consent rights for LGBTQIA+ couples under existing laws.

The response came in a petition filed by Arshiya Takkar seeking guidelines to recognise a non-heterosexual partner as a patient’s medical representative empowered to give consent in medical situations
