'Monsters Of Humankind': India Calls For Dismantling Of Environments That Shelter al-Qaeda, LeT, JeM

India has urged the international community to work on dismantling permissive environments that shelter and harbour transnational terrorist networks
India on Wednesday urged the international community to work on dismantling permissive environments that shelter and harbour transnational terrorist networks. While New Delhi acknowledged the international community’s backing of the global campaign to counter terrorism after the 9/11 massacre, it underlined that al-Qaeda’s terror network spans beyond the Afghan borders.
During a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, said: “The international community supported the global campaign to counter terrorism in the wake of 9/11. Let us, not forget, however, that Al Qaeda’s terror eco-system established its strategic depth beyond Afghanistan through its affiliates. The leaders of Al Qaeda who conceived and directed these 9/11 attacks did not escape justice in the wilderness of some ungoverned frontier", he said, as quoted by ANI.
