Gurugram biker was riding Aprilia RS 457—a light, quick, beginner-friendly sports bike
The Aprilia RS 457 rivals bikes such as the Kawasaki Ninja 500, which has nearly the same power figures but costs over Rs 1.5 lakh more.

New Delhi: It was a usual Sunday ride for Shivani Chauhan when she was hit by a car on the Golf Course Road in Gurugram and sustained injuries in the accident. She was riding the Aprilia RS 457, a light-weight but powerful Italian bike that can clock a top speed of 200 kmph.
Passionate about motorcycles since school, Chauhan started posting bike videos last year on her Instagram page, where she is known as Sia.
Aprilia RS 457 is Sia’s first bike, and has accompanied her on the mandatory Murthal breakfast rides, workshop trips, and weekend photoshoots. Launched in India in September 2023, the fully fared bike had created a buzz among petrolheads with its sharp looks and an impressive power-to-weight ratio of about 0.2 kW/kg.
The twin-cylinder entry-level sports bike weighs just 175 kg, making it a preferred choice for beginners and women riders like Sia. But while the light weight makes the bike pretty agile and easy to manoeuvre, its peppy engine gives it an aggressive and engaging character that can scare newbies.
