Noel Tata Calls N Chandrasekaran Re-Appointment Vote ‘Illegal’

Attention will now shift to Tata Sons’ adjourned annual general meeting, which is required to be held by December 31.

The Tata Sons board on September 17 voted 4-1 in favour of N Chandrasekaran continuing at the helm of the group holding company, people familiar with the proceedings told Moneycontrol, reopening a succession question that appeared settled only weeks ago.

Noel Tata told Moneycontrol that he considered the vote “illegal", challenging the validity of a decision that could have significant implications for the leadership of India’s largest business group.
