Haryana: Palwal Police impounds 255 vehicles, issues 478 challans in 10-day drive
Faridabad, Sep 17 (PTI) In a crackdown on traffic violators and street crime, the Palwal Police have impounded 255 vehicles and issued challans to 478 others for operating without valid number plates during a 10-day special drive, officials said on Thursday.
The intensive campaign was launched under the direct supervision of the newly appointed Superintendent of Police Deepti Garg, who took charge on September 6.
Following her takeover, the SP issued strict instructions to all Station House Officers (SHOs) and traffic personnel to enforce zero tolerance against suspicious vehicles to boost road safety and crime prevention across the district.
“Vehicles without proper number plates are frequently linked to illegal activities and street crimes. Palwal Police will not tolerate any attempt to evade law enforcement through improper or missing vehicle identification,” Garg said.
Warning offenders of strict legal action, heavy penalties, and immediate impounding, the SP urged citizens to ensure their vehicles display legally compliant High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP) at all times. PTI COR APL APL
