Govt launches Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 with focus on sustained cleanliness

The Centre’s Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign launches on September 17, urging citizens to adopt green festivities and four-way waste segregation. Schools and colleges will lead awareness drives under ‘Swachhata Pathshala’ as the government shifts cleanliness from a programme to societal duty.

Minister CR Patil said the government aims to shift cleanliness from an official programme to a shared societal responsibility
