Scientists have uncovered a naturally occurring gut bacterium from common tree frogs that has been found to be 100% effective in eradicating cancerous cells in lab animals, showing promise for treatment for a specific type of cancer.
A team of Japanese researchers led by Professor Eijiro Miyako at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology found that Ewingella americana, isolated from the gut of a common tree frog, showed a strong ability to destroy cancer cells in rats, TechSpot reported.
