South Africa women’s cricket team captain Laura Wolvaardt entered her name in the history books on Tuesday by breaking the world record for scoring the most WT20I runs in a calendar year. The right-handed top-order batter has played 22 WT20Is so far in 2026 and has 822 runs to her name. She played an unbeaten knock of 126 runs against Zimbabwe in the third WT20I on Tuesday to go past Natasha Miles’ tally of 800 runs.

Natasha Miles has played 27 WT20I matches for Hong Kong so far in the ongoing calendar year.
