Maharashtra: Four of family killed, six injured in highway car crash
Thane, Sep 16 (PTI) Four members of a family returning from Trimbakeshwar were killed, and six others were injured when their MUV crashed into a stationary truck on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway in Thane district of Maharashtra on Wednesday, police said.
The family from Jogeshwari in Mumbai was returning after taking darshan at the famous Lord Shiva temple in Trimbakeshwar in Nashik district, when the incident occurred near Atgaon village in the afternoon.
“The car rear-ended a burnt truck that had been abandoned on the highway for the past two years, reducing the car to a total wreck,” a police official said.
The deceased include two children. The identities of the victims are being established, police said, adding that the six injured passengers are currently undergoing treatment at the Shahapur Sub-District Hospital. PTI COR NSK
